Why is my washing machine not spinning?
A machine that fills but won't spin usually has a clogged drain pump, an unbalanced or overloaded drum, a worn drive belt, or a faulty lid or door switch. Redistributing the load and checking the door latch is safe to try yourself; if it still won't spin, the belt, motor or control board needs a technician.
Why is my washing machine not draining water?
Standing water at the end of a cycle usually means a clogged drain pump filter, a kinked or blocked outlet hose, or a jammed pump impeller — often from coins, buttons or lint. Check the drain hose for kinks first; a blocked pump needs a technician to open and clear safely.
Why is the drum not rotating even though the machine powers on?
If the machine powers on but the drum stays still, a snapped drive belt, worn motor coupler, or failed motor is the likely cause. This needs a technician to open the machine and inspect the belt and motor assembly.
Why is my washing machine making a loud noise?
Loud noise or banging often comes from worn drum bearings, a foreign object trapped in the drum, an unbalanced load, or worn shock absorbers/springs. Stop the machine and check for trapped items first; persistent noise means the bearings or suspension need a technician's inspection.
Why won't the washing machine door open after a wash?
