Why is my fridge not cooling?
A fridge that isn't cooling usually has dirty condenser coils blocking heat exchange, a failed condenser or evaporator fan, a faulty thermostat, or low refrigerant from a leak. Try clearing dust from the coils at the back first; if cooling doesn't return, gas and compressor issues need a technician.
Why is my fridge not cooling but the light is on?
The fridge light runs on a separate circuit from cooling, so a lit but warm fridge points straight to the cooling system — commonly dirty condenser coils, a failed evaporator fan, a faulty thermostat or start relay, or low refrigerant. If the freezer is cold but the fridge section is warm, it's usually an airflow or fan problem a technician can diagnose quickly.
Why is my freezer over-freezing or icing up quickly?
Over-freezing is commonly caused by a faulty thermostat stuck on maximum cooling, a door not sealing properly letting in humid air, or a blocked defrost drain. Check the door seal for gaps first; a stuck thermostat or defrost heater fault needs a technician.
Why is water leaking from my fridge?
Leaks usually come from a blocked or frozen defrost drain, a cracked drip tray, or a door seal that isn't sealing properly and lets in moisture that condenses and drips. Clearing visible ice from the drain area is safe; a blocked internal drain line needs a technician.
Why is my refrigerator making noise?
Some humming and clicking from the compressor and fans is normal. Loud buzzing, rattling or grinding usually comes from the condenser or evaporator fan, the compressor, or the unit vibrating against a wall — a technician should check the fans and compressor mounts.
